For several days I've played "Reptile" regularly and I have to say that my 98-he Clapton album "Pilgrim" better liked. I can not understand the here often mentioned subsequent negative evaluation of "Pilgrim" also. "Reptile" Stretches of course also a great album. I do not completely contradict my "Vorrezensenten". Songs like "Reptile", "Travelin 'Light", "Broken Down", "Second Nature" and "Son & Sylvia" are great and offer a totally relaxed atmosphere. I also managed the cover version of "I Is not Gonna Stand For It". For these songs there's a perfect score. I have with "Come Back Baby", "Find Myself", "I Want A Little Girl" and "Superman Inside" My difficulties. Clear, well played with partial beautiful guitar parts but some annoying vocals. "Pilgrim" was for me a total of just harmonious, modern, innovative (if one can say with any EC) (to be fashionable without), if you will, experimental. A bad album is "Reptile" certainly not, but "Pilgrim" is rated by many listeners simply too negative. Especially Simon Climie has indeed produced the "Reptile". At the producer's therefore can not lie exclusively. Probably one can not compare the two albums anyway. Everyone should decide for themselves. Allen "Reptile" fans so much fun continues!
