just relatively unknown title in my opinion, these quattuors receive a commendable spirit of Cherubini and good technical quality recording; Op.80 the course, the "Requiem for Fanny" is outrageously dramatized but nevertheless taking; the Op.12 and 13 are already inflated later and famous works of Mendelssohn and as such can be listened to with interest; about the Op.44, it should probably be a musician to appreciate the subtleties of the first 2 quattuors; No. 3 has instead captured my attention; to confirm / refute the view that one has to the music of Mendelssohn, and at this price, these 3 CDs are recommended.
