I made this game a long time ignored and only in the last few weeks I have looked closer to me.
The reason is that I did not like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory part since more. Too bright, too much banging etc.
So I had a look at the game a little more precisely. Everything was dark and there are different ways to approach the missions. Either completely unseen without killing an enemy (only stun) = Ghost. With banging, loud and constantly with Action = Assault. Or just quiet, but deadly = Panther.
Singleplayer I have more than 80% already played and can say that it is fun again and again there are all the gadgets and ways to completely come unseen by the missions.
Furthermore, it should be mentioned that you can customize Sam Fisher complete his style of play. So I want to unseen and silently approach, I suppose silenced weapon and change my equipment more toward stealth. Prefer a different approach, I equip Sam Fisher just different from, for example, more armor. Even the airplane, Paladin, you can upgrade to unlock in this way new skills and equipment. It is now more similar to RPG.
Many compare always Splinter Cell and MGS. In my opinion that is not. MGS is cinematically staged, has bombastic cutscenes, but the story, the setting and the protagonist is just totally unrealistic.
In Splinter Cell you get a little lighter fare, but also more realistic, without nano-soldiers, etc.
For me personally it's more fun to realistic opponents to compete, as against unrealistic that are totally implausible.
Well, the story in Splinter Cell Blacklist is again rather standard, with terrorists against the rest of the world, but they tied me anyway by the high variety and the different places.
There are at stake no real main menu, the whole plane is rather the menu. There you can of course start the SP missions, but also the co-op missions and online MP "spy against mercenaries".
Positives:
- Again more of a Chaos Theory, as a Double Agent / Conviction
- Upgradeable equipment
- Allows players to complete missions in different ways and through different means
- The characters in the team all have their own way of Charlie's more well-known IT specialist who is trying to be cool and funny, but rather the case fails.. Grim is rather the "mother" who tried everything to perform with the rules and Brigs is something schießwütigere agent who sometimes ignores commands and acts from a distance as a sniper.
- Many missions, making a long playing period arises. The missions are not boring, because they are always in a different place and because this is something new again and again that the developers have installed (including new gadgets).
