I switched after much consideration of the 60d to the 6d. The reason was primarily not even in a dissatisfaction with the 60d, but in search of a wide angle. After spoke to me nothing was clear to me that I need a full frame camera. Then there was the choice between the Nikon D610, the D800 and the 6d. Against Nikon D610 spoke in the cabinet, I reject the latest because of the lack of AF-On button, to the D800 spoke of pixel pitch because I need a camera that gives good results under very low light conditions. I photograph very much available light as well as sports in the hall. And with only one sensor ... I took the risk and I'm thrilled. The camera works effortlessly with 12,800 ASA, with the supplied Lightroom, noise can be easy removed (just do not use JPEG, the results are consistent with the RAW results not comparable). As for the AF I've tried the ten line sensors and lo and behold, they actually also sharp. With Nikon's AF sensors battle I have worked in the past and the results were no better (D700 / D300), but much Geblinke in the viewfinder. My F5 had five sensors and it was also sharp). Why then four and not five stars? The controls are arranged downright willfully absurd compared to the 60D. The camera is to be operated with the right, Menu and Info are but links; the Zoom-in function of 60d is much more logical, the lid cap acts much cheaper than the otherwise so beefy body and the internet is at the facility too fiddly. Therefore: four stars. A final word: what is there against a viewfinder coverage of 97% objection? But motives are on the screen really it, with my 100% -models I had always problems with it, and for the remaining three percent there are LV, right? One last word: I read occasionally that the AF was not adjustable: is he and external flashes may also mastered the 6d, even without own flash (which would shaded by the beefy L-optics anyway).
Addendum: the camera is incredibly good to 3200ASA, hard to beat the JPEG noise reduction in LR and the photos look as if they were received in a wonderful studio light, even if it was a dark hall. From 6400 there will be 12800 to ASA useful, but with a significant difference from 3200. For this you can use 6400 ASA well to high shutter speeds, even with flash (easily over the flash set) to achieve, and the aperture that you need, a little depth to obtain (big difference to APS) connection with laptop works: only turn the camera on WiFi, then the PC, then ... wait ... wait. The top cap and the buttons / switches inspire high still, no comparison with Nikon - unfortunately. The video function is far better than the 60D, but it is still from the state no video camera (need not necessarily). The serial speed is 4.5 frames very leisurely, but in jpeg "infinite" (and the jpegs are good further processing on the PC - it does not have to be raw). The images come from the camera well and printable. Very handy for quick distribution.
