The opener -I do my peace with me-is refreshingly different. Choral singing, a challenging guitar and determining Bläsersätze leave the piece with vitality almost over Borden. -The Door is always open-is then even more a song from the Mainestream Pop. If there are memories of gunslinger, then they are in songs like -It hurts me to see- so you awake. Quite another is because -If brennt- to us. Only a whispering guitar, a harmonica and Johannes Strate voice make the song a wonderful piece of music purist. The title track -The signs point to storm comes as popular ballad with piano accompaniment therefore. A "Fußwipp song" the special type -Good morning annals; Nordic and beautiful! My favorite song on the album. -Where Is my Zuhause- is for me a rather average song. By contrast, appears to me -You can argue and shout to the world as a high-class untergeht- Minnesong with poetic text. -You Are jazzt with you alone- and bluest to placidly amid the interesting 4:20 minutes. At the end I thought then, Hannes Wader is a guest in the house Strate. But far from it. -An Rosalinde- an almost antique looking song is sung by Johannes Strate and his father. That's just beautiful.
-The Signs point to storm has become a good album. Maybe not for sworn gunslinger fans or friends with songwriter highly intellectual claim. But for students who are on good music, insightful lyrics, gorgeous guitar effects and a bit of poetic romance, is likely to be a real asset Johannes Strate solo album.
