Routes Schneider (ab)

As I unpacked the eTrex and used for the first time I was excited, almost euphoric. It's just great that you a route on Google Maps or Google Earth easily and automatically can be generated (pedestrian function) itself. It is even possible to move the route on Google Maps and to use routes that are not automatically selected. Then the KML file from Google needs to be converted into a GPX file with GPSies.com and copied to the Garmingerät easy. Then it goes off. As I said, just great.
But what was that? Some of the routes that I had created, stopped somewhere easy. I've checked everything. I have the files converted back to see if the route were cut somewhere. But that was not the case. Exactly the same route that I just had on the appliance and do not put me to the destination, was displayed in full again at Google. Even as I herumrätselte I wrote to the Garminsupport. After three days, I got my answer: "... Although I do not understand why the device routes just cuts, but this does not change the file size, but OK. My solution is now to create routes with maximum of 250 waypoints, but to have more routes in the device. About Google Maps I can route creation forgetter, there already is a graph contains multiple waypoints. I paint the automatically created in Google Maps routes as Google Earth just with fewer waypoints to and am counting how many clicks I'm doing.

Why Garmin? Why do you do such things? A route with more than 500 waypoints is no 50kb in size. On your device fit 10MB. Why do you do it your customer so hard? Please more description! I could not figure out what the "cut" my route was without support.

So much for my first experience.

I can also say that has already brought me to places and piloted by roads the device, which remained hidden from me so far but. And if everything works, it's great fun with it by bicycle to be on the road.

Especially good is the battery performance and the fact that I can use any AA battery for this purpose. Compliment!
