Now the module. I am of an eight year old LCD TV with external HD + satellite receiver (Telestar Diginova HD +, top equipment!) Switched to a current Samsung Smart TV the H6470 series. Since it has a built-in DVB-S2 satellite receiver I wanted to give up the external device. So I needed a CI + module for existing HD + card.
Annoying: You get the modules only in conjunction with an HD + card (including one year credit.). I did not want to, but I had to take. For a star deduction.
Next wow factor in obtaining the device: On the back of the package is in the small print that while time shift, but no recordings of HD + material is possible. Annoying, because with my external receiver it worked without problems, albeit with fast forward limitation. But since anyway extremely rare record values programs are provided and I am mainly video on demand users that was to get over for me.
Then the surprise: contrary to this statement, the recording seems to work but. In HD, and coil I could. But I have not tested further, perhaps even just the radiated film (True Lies on SAT1) not limited.
Use running so far satisfactory. The card has been recognized by the TV without any problems. The first authentication lasted about 3 minutes. After switching on the TV, the authentication required then always unique about 5 seconds. But that only gets noticed when starting directly on a HD + channel. Changing channels in HD + take less than 2 seconds so that I can live. I currently use my existing smartcard (HD02), which included (HD03) I save until the end of the current paid term, because the "test period" only just starts to activate the card.
Conclusion So: If you want to receive HD + and without external receiver is well served by this module. Annoying remains, however, that you get the module only with a (new) HD + card to correspondingly high price.
