FOREWORD
Reminds me (the sound) from the classic Sennheiser HD430, although visually the AKG 240 is similar (but with which I have no experience). No wonder, he comes from the same Taiwanese OEM manufacturers as the AKG, which sells these under its own brand "Superlux" than HD 681 B, 681 and 681 F and the now is a hot tip.
SOUND
Mercilessly well characterized this model best. The semi-open design ensures powerful bass come across the original. Well - actually very good - the headset is right across all frequencies. He concealed nothing, but he glossed over nothing. The picture looks great and digitized in high quality is present (eg AAC / MP4 256) then he latches perfectly transparent, crystal clear and every sound / instrument can be assigned spatially clear. Woe to you are dealing with MP3 / 128 or recording or mix was bungled - then ungraciously unmasked and glossed over nothing. Personally, I am thrilled.
Semi-open is also not closed. What sounds like a truism is good for the sound, but also means that from 50% volume the environment will notice that with me something is going from 70% recommend can! what's going on and at 100% knows what I listen to. Conversely, it is not so problematic. From 60% to me is the environment - jackhammer except - iWurst.
HARDWARE
Also construction, ergonomics and quality is measured by the price very good and much better than that which has less than 40 euros to offer such as Sennheiser in the price range. A loud round cable that comes on only one side of the headphones. Much better than cheap ribbon cable so many competitors.
The connector has gold plated contacts and the adapter on large jack is also gilded and is not plugged in, screwed sondernd. The headphones are similar to the aforementioned Sennheiser or his stepbrother built by AKG, ie you can adjust the seat perfectly in height and width ("self-adjusting" without fixed pegs - expose align your ears - fit) and it is very comfortable to wear and the ears are well enclosed and not press. Not even with glasses. The two ear parts are tilting and swivel freely suspended fine. And if you want to have new and even special comfort-Ear Pads, you can get what velor for the AKG 240.
It has a disadvantage compared to the 100 but expensive AKG - the cable is securely attached and not removable - to get over with the price.
TECHNOLOGY
On paper, the frequency response of 10 Hz - 30 kHz extensive given as the AKG 240 MK 1 (if he actually meets these specifications, or AKG's just given a little more defensive, is without metrology anyway academically).
In addition he is with 32 ohms even with iPods / iPhones, MP3 players and PC sound cards handle that can be easily overwhelmed by the AKG and its 55 ohms. The Samson is quite noisy but without distorting these devices at full volume and depending on the recording also bearable.
CONCLUSION
Long story - short - I'm thrilled him no longer give her, partly, I have music so intense not heard how long. If I could forgive seven stars - I would do it.
