.. Nice it would have been.
The Mixtape per se is not bad. These are after all a mixtape, because the standards are of course completely different set. However, there is in my opinion, 3 major problems that bother me at least:
1. The Beats: often electronically or stressful. This is mainly on the 16th hi-hat, which is really used often. Couple beats are quite good, especially when you listen to it again in the instrumental version. Why do they sound better since? Which brings us to
2. Quality: I can understand that you want to reinforce the "old school" effect with this technique, but people come on, who wants to please listen for a mixtape of 2013 the quality of Eimsbush cassettes? Me personally cares. Even that Afrob is used here as a back up my opinion on the overall picture rather bad for the mixtape, as we hear the "cry-Afrob" here, which increases the stress factor addition.
3. 22 tracks. Okay, first I thought: Wow, cool: 22 tracks are still great! But if there are between songs that you can not even hear on first hearing to an end, which is again bad for the overall picture. Here I would have a mixtape with the motto "less is more" desired, 15 tracks were still also been a lot.
Do not get me wrong, Samy raps in! Often with good punchlines etc. But it flashes repeatedly by the Lord worry if a hook is made with Autotune or the beats are very electronically. But that is of course to DJ Vito and Matteo Capreoli and also produce Samy's way (Samy has some songs themselves produced or co-produced). Expected definitely not classic hip hop beats. Perhaps the album also gaining value, the more often you can hear it.
In my opinion it's a good mixtape, whose value is clearly reduced by the "Live Session" effect.
The album will be but certainly still very good.
I still recommend everyone Listen, maybe some people like the way the mixtape worde added.
Peace
