It is a champagne cork that preserves the bubbles. The system is very simple: just attach the cap to the bottle with the side tabs, and then pumped using the button on the top to send air into the bottle, and create pressure which will prevent the gas from escaping champagne. It's childish, and it works very well .. But it is true that an open bottle of champagne rarely lasts more than three days at home.
CAUTION However, removing the plug: you have recreated the pressure using the pump, so it must hold the cap when you slide open the side tabs, otherwise the cap will jump (strong, and below).
Of course, it also works for cider or sparkling wine, and in general on all cylinders in which the cap is retained by a wire cage.
The price under 10 euros, is entirely correct in terms of the usefulness of the object.
