This edition provides the most important and best-known works of HG Wells:
- The War Of The Worlds (1898)
- The Iceland of Dr. Moreau (1896)
- The Invisible Man (1897)
- The Time Machine (1895)
- The First Men in the Moon (1901)
The most important vornweg: the books are unabridged and unaltered. They correspond to 100% of the texts of HG Wells. The books are (for the English) slightly larger but quite thin paperbacks. The cover also makes a slightly more flexible impression that I'm used to it from the otherwise cheap-looking American paperbacks. But inside again the old picture: Dark paper and not quite as good pressure. The design of the cover and the box is fine. Last is in this price range, of course only a simple unreinforced cardboard.
Contents include all five books for all ages from 10 years - up there is no limit. The writing style is not too complicated to be understood by inexperienced. However, the language is a bit strange, because many of the words used are rarely used today or partly with slightly different meanings. Example: If one thinks today at the word "gay" was the first to homosexuality, it had then a different meaning, although today och applies, but is no longer used. With a little ambition can however very well with these books expand his English vocabulary. Wells used a wide variety of words. There is an adverb and every noun an attribute to almost every verb. A very lively language. In addition, Wells proves here that it need not always be 400 pages and more, to tell a story.
Anyone reading SF and is not afraid of the original English editions, which can / must safely access at this price. Even if you spend a lot more money and wish to acquire older and valuable collector's editions, then they own these books here still good as reading copies to protect the other.
