To test I ordered a low-priced premium product, in which (had to be estimated amount here) in the filter holder / in a container also directly could grind. The result was disappointing: I could make espresso powder made of beans, where the water only ran on the stage almost gröbesten through the filter holder. That may speak a device for as for some users, but I then did the espresso / cappuccino not somehow tasted better than the fly cutter mill. It hinterlies additionally only a huge Sauerrei (since grinding in smaller filter holder was indeed provided, but not centered in the filter holder.
Disappointed I further looked around and am eventually encountered Severin. From this company came also the filter coffee machines where the coffee had me by far the best ever tasted. Since the coffee grinder can not be bad so bad, I thought.
I was very skeptical, but the last mill had cost much more and was clearly designed for the espresso powder production. But I should not be disappointed:
,
- 100 g ground coffee receptacle: For a private household absolutely sufficient since one should grind only for the direct preparation anyway. Regrind of pages / cover (Interior) of the container (not included) removed with a brush over the waste container.
- 150 g of coffee beans: For a private household than adequate, since the beans stock should be stored aroma gently anyway. I have an additional black, removable cover crafted around the container around it to the few beans which are above still inside at least protected from light, since I do not want to empty every time the grinder after use. Here, incidentally, the Premium device was equipped with an unnecessarily larger bean container.
- Electronic timer: The smallest adjustable flow rate are (unfortunately) 2 cups. For the grinding of a cup you should dispose of the remaining powder, store in a "Refill Pack" or the sensitiveness develop the grinding finish early by pressing the start button. The amount for 2 or 3 cups of espresso / cappuccino agrees with us by the way.
- Freeness: With concerns that in the end ends up in the cup again nothing I nevertheless began Espresso level (1), the finest freeness. Apparently it is in Severin on >> the small private household Kaffeesiebträger (with Cremasieb)
- Noise: A comparison. The grinding noise reminds me of a coffee machine (formerly Premium, today it would probably be low-budget segment). So quite tolerable noise also is such a device not running instead of radio. (Unfortunately, no dB meter available, therefore no objective determination possible.)
- Cleaning: Here I see the greatest difficulty in coffee grinders. At the grinder of Severin to get good zoom. Quite easily used damp cloth or brush gets you clean the main areas. A little critical here is the area for grinding container. This, however, is relatively short, can also be cleaned with a brush from the bottom of the container side. An angle is still in there, but you can neglect the in my opinion. (Not in use I searched a little thread, the link with success from> so who would like to have this area totally clean, will surely find a way.) The premium product absolutely could, however, not win me over. While it came to a piece of grinding approach, but not complete and there were certain areas where you could only hope that old powder will affect the quality not a day.
- Quality:
# 03/2013 # in the setting for the number of cups is a margin of about 1/4 cup. That is, in this field, you realize that the command dial the mechanics behind it does not trip.
Lt. Manufacturer This behavior is due to production normally
# 04/2013 # When cleaning after grinding of about 350 grams of beans (grade changes), I noticed that a plastic ring has probably got a crack due to excessive stress on the component. Let's see if it was damaged goods -> Maybe that's next device durable? (Therefore, for the time being no devaluation)
# 05/2013 # When cleaning after grinding of about 750 grams of beans I have noticed in the new mill no defects on the grinder. However, the coffee-collecting container has suffered somewhat. Ie. at the bottom you can see "scratch marks" around light (just like at the first device). Furthermore, at one point, the plastic layer is "scraped off". I do not like to take this opportunity to deny that this happened to me in personal negligence, but very robust, the container is not likely. (Grist was only taken out with plastic spoon and then cleaned with a large brush.) Back nevertheless went the machine now for the following reasons:
- The cup selector is considerably looser than the first unit (This was not quite exact, but at least it did not feel that it is a China-1-EUR-items)
- The "inner life" gives the impression that it is sitting a jolt to high in the housing. The removable grinding ring can be easily "bob", and the upper ground coffee sitting a little wobbly
- The feeling that the machine to equivalent beans much more coffee dust provokes. I was already addressed it, I "create much more dirt at Espresso Cooking" most recently. Now I realize why.
,
The experiment was a success at the end: So I knew our aromatic espresso places still not at all. So a fabulous result I did not expect in the Severin-machine and was very pleasantly surprised. For our espresso beans I have found that the espresso / cappuccino tastes best forward to Stage 2. (Since then even 1 step for improvement - for beans which require a different treatment). For a "real" Siebträgermaschine without this Crema Seven possibly the grind is actually to be rude, but who spends from 500 EUR for a professional Siebträgermaschine, will then also buy a coffee grinder for 150 to 250 EUR - I suppose. Anyway, we are very pleased with our 2-4 cups a day. In addition, the result is consistent. (A clear advantage of the rain gauge devices)
The in-depth question whether it is a luxury problem that many speak of the great loss of aroma at fly-cutter coffee grinders, I can clearly answered in the negative. The problem with this thing is: I did not have tasted before coffee machines since the Siebträgermaschine. What do I do now if I'd like to drink coffee outside?
The manufacturer currently appears quality problems with this product have (I do not believe in coincidences with 2 devices). I am doing this to me difficult to give a points deduction, since it obviously also are devices that are in order. --Daher 4.5 Sterne--
I expect from a device of this performance and price class no valent metal housing or premium features. But you pay money for this product. Here the end user, the device should really very closely, preferably before use, check for workmanship. Otherwise you have the hassle later. To me, that chapter is closed, because anyway the Siebträgermaschine had to be replaced (defective).
Thank you for reading.
