Important criteria for the purchasing decision were:
- Water-resistance (the Fellnase is a Golden, which is wind and weather on the slopes and takes every opportunity to go for a swim).
- High, highly visible luminosity (thick, long hair on the neck).
- Easy to use (no battery replacement, easy charging, no switch that could turn it off while playing).
- Secure closure.
- * No * Geblinke.
Less than 5 months later, I'm still very pleased with this bulb necklace.
It is completely waterproof and lights almost a bit too bright (ie one is a bit dazzled when the Fellnase goes on foot, but it is really visible from afar).
This luminous collar recognizes only 2 statuses: on or off. Once the BNC connectors are sealed, it is continuously lit (according to the manufacturer for about 2 hours, I could not verify, however, good 1.5h but considers it all). If the batteries run out of juice so slowly it begins to flash. The BNC closure ensures that the luminous necklace does not resolve even with something ruppigerem with other Fellnasen. Furthermore, since no switches are present, it can not be switched off during the game, which may well be the case in other times light collars. Definitely worth a star.
Charging the battery is simple: Plug the supplied charger into the wall socket, collar on the USB also supplied - Plug BNC cable and keep charging. While the batteries are being charged, an indicator lights up red when they are charged, they alternately flashes red and green (2014er version; the 2015er is after charging only green lights).
A small but verkraftbares Caveat there (is however mentioned in the product description): From a certain size must necessarily be counted in the total length of 5cm. I had at that time due to lack of available alternatives a 55cm band ordered (okay, my mistake, I would have been able to do a few weeks earlier, is not like that dark season starts randomly). This means that our 55cm band is actually 60cm long and slips thus easier than I thought over my head. Have the "problem" solved by I prefer the luminous collar through the D-ring of regular Collar. So it sits firmly and Game has not yet slipped over the head and / or lost.
One more caveat: Once the collar starts to flash on the go, you should if possible look on to get the Fellnase near him, because it then takes much less than 10 minutes before anything goes out. This quite short period of time is a bit unfortunate. If desired, I would have a flash duration of 20 to 30 minutes.
Conclusion: Despite the relatively high price of an investment in the safety of my Fellnase that I have not regretted a second.
