Semi-professional recorder with a twist

For many years, I take mobile to sounds. Initially, a tape recorder was used, but most of the time I worked with a DIY-Field Recorder: A MiniDisc recorder of "Sharp", an external power supply (regulated) and a fixed stereo microphone of "Sony" in a protective frame. This worked so well that were even recorded the running noise of the MD-Portis audible. It was late, I switched to the mordernen recorders with flash memory .....

..... Now for the TASCAM DR-100: The high-quality equipment features around on some switches and knobs on the bottom. Thus you can quickly and directly change a setting in the application, such as microphone pre-amplification. This leads to the setting "low" at surprisingly low-noise shots at "mid", the noise level is good at "high" still acceptable. Negatives:

- Low signal level with most external microphones
- Low signal level with the internal microphones
- Supplied windscreen only made of foam (no skin)
- No power supply included (concerning EIA inaudible)

One should not be fooled by the pictures: Although the device acts as a "Handy Recorder" Azla "Zoom H2", 35 mm with 80 mm x 153 mm x but considerably larger. 375 grams of concentrated technology, with battery and alkaline manganese batteries.

Conclusion: For those looking for a quality recording device on the go, the right choice. Even with the internal microphones succeed very good shots, with active microphones at the inputs Reborn.
