Sente and Juillard: quality result for Jacobs, these are the two?

I specify in the introduction that I will not enter the debate about the interest or not to resume the adventures of characters whose creator has disappeared. The way things are, and we must at least recognize the attempted prosecution, from the beginning, a certain general quality, with peaks and troughs.

Yves Sente may be the true successor of Jacobs writer.

I find that at the cutting and the narrative technique, it sticks closer in this album, the "paw" original Jacobs. From this point of view, it is in my opinion, easily forget professionals stories, but a bit too wily Van Hamme.

In "The Oath of 5 Lords" I felt (but I must be naive) Sente a real interest in history rather than automatic writing or a willingness to parody sprinkling here and there of the elements " jacobsiens ". The proof, he does not hesitate to leave Olrik the closet (on the other hand, there Olrik has already spent so much time in the closet ...).

The story noted the purest policeman: an oath, a missing book ... The atmosphere is pretty dark, even with a scene of torture quite uplifting. TE Lawrence was the pretext for the plot, but given the side "one shot" of the album, the development of the history of 62 pages, does not go very far in life of the author of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom".

Because of the character displayed "simple murder mystery" whether to seek a distant kinship with original oeuvre by Jacobs, should go more towards "The Affair of the Necklace" than to "The Demon Trap" or "L enigma of Atlantis. "

Personally, it suits me perfectly because I have not been convinced by the "fantastic" side of certain works of Jacobs. But it is possible however that all Jacobs fans do not find their account ... The intrigue lovers by line also may wince at the expected outcome.

Juillard is obviously a great artist. It seems to me (and most qualified people could confirm or not), that from the 1st page, quirks appear.
