Sometime this global success must nevertheless have taken its beginning and evolves. And this beginning of the most successful careers in music history including musical development may now enjoy first hand with this box music connoisseurs. On three CDs with 48 songs here are long-time fans as well as Tina Turner entrants may expand their music collection. You may make a journey through time from the 60s to the 90s and to hear how a strong woman freed slowly but surely the music of her past.
The three CDs are thematically divided into different areas. The first CD includes 18 songs of Turner (along with Ike) that originate from their previous time. Rocking and bluesy songs like "Bold Soul Sister", "River Deep Mountain High" or the popular song "Proud Mary" and "Nutbush City Limits" are the more familiar songs. It quickly becomes clear that here a woman shows that will have a long career ahead of him.
Particularly exciting is the two tracks designed comprehensive "Sexy Ida" (Part I and II), which offers a masterful demolition by the radio and turns in the second half in an entirely different direction. Rock at its best!
The second CD offers a comprehensive mix of Tina's creative phases. Be it the epochal "Acid Queen" from The Who's opera "Tommy" or one of my favorite pieces: "Let's Pretend We're Married". Duets with Bryan Adams ("It's Only Love"), Eric Clapton ("Tearing Us Apart") and Rod Stewart ("It Takes Two") also enrich this collection.
On the last CD unfortunately the famous Turner songs are from their "Private Dancer" phase. Of course, this may the familiar "What's Love Got To Do With It" as little as missing "Private Dancer" or "The Best". This CD is in particular interesting for Turner newbies, because here there are 15 songs of the great diva, who know every aspiring fan MUST.
But though I have to say that the sound quality, particularly the older pieces, is not consistently outstanding. The difference is clear when one runs directly into another song from CD 3 and CD 1. But this shortcoming is definitely marginal nature.
But that's not all what this box contains, because as great delicacies is the buyer still offers an approx 28x14 centimeter booklet, it really has it all. A short four-page introduction explains the way Turner to a music legend, which has been combined on these three CDs. Then the booklet designed as a kind of illustrated book from the 60s to 90s. Gorgeous, crisp images from photo shoots, as well as from concert recordings show an exuberant and cheerful Tina Turner.
In conclusion, that the purchase of this Box has more than paid off. Each time a new Listen facets reveal their music and make it very exciting 200 minutes conversation in which you can lose yourself totally. Absolute hearing and buy recommendation!
