Purchased in May 2007, the strip with surge protector APC P5B-E is no longer working in 2012, 5 years later.

After only 2 years, the switch was sparks and noise when I éteignais.
In addition, by design of the switch, you can not turn it on or off with your foot. This forces you to bend down, which is far from practical.

Note that the power strip is closed between other with 4 screws designed to be permanently attached (even if there is way to unscrew). This product is clearly designed to be discarded as soon as there was a power surge.
Note also that there are many negative comments about this strip on amazon.de.

In conclusion, my next will be a strip Brennenstuhl Premium ALU (much cheaper on amazon.de) combined with a surge protector Brennenstuhl Primera Line (purchased on Amazon.com for the compatibility of the earth electrode).
