This shell protects the back of the iPhone 4 or 4S and the left and right sides (not up and down).
Transparency is an asset to preserve the general look of the iphone and leave visible the pretty apple back.

The hull is solid, exactly to size and fits comfortably.
This is not something that is going to last very long because these shells (even 5x more expensive) scratch easily but the iPhone is protected and at this price you can order from time to time.
I suggest placing a transparent film on the screen in addition.

Very happy with the product.
