We (my husband and I) also belong to the circle of "old Knobel hands" both on PC and on almost all current consoles. We have from the first Zelda for the N64, Mysth and Monkey Iceland I just about anything available for the PC today at Knobel- and adventure games on the shelf, what there was on the market in this direction and there. Of course, the two predecessors Secret Files: 1 + 2, and the "secondary Game" Lost Horizon. Were correspondingly high and our expectations for this game. Unfortunately, these have not been fulfilled.

Reason:

- Very short season (I know of no other game we had to second through in just under four hours)
For beginners and newcomers that may be in order, since they may not have a measure of the approximate length of a good game, but for all connoisseurs of the series which is chosen too short!

- Rätselspaß too flat (either "odd" or light or illogical - as if someone had tried to grab the "puzzle types" of different games in one)
For beginners who are generally unfamiliar with such Adventures, which is again no problem and may even thereby provide some variety. As "time player" but one imagines from the outset to a certain basic strategy to solve the mystery, a, especially when you play a sequel. In its predecessors the zumeinst logical approaches were - when a logic in some puzzles also became aware of after the fact. I do not know what I was annoyed after looking into the solution more: That my way of thinking was too complicated, or that the solution was so obvious simple that you can save the spraining of the convolutions. On the other hand the Rätselei is then again drawn unnecessarily into the length, because you will perform one and the same plot line five times simply because the programmers are not willing to admit that the savvy player does two or three things in advance equal to at once ,

- Story and actions worked to little
In its predecessors (and in many other games) you learn a lot by interacting with other characters. In this game, you go almost entirely alone through the entire game. Funny dialogues come thereby short puzzles that are tied to specific actions with people, missing almost entirely, thereby reducing the run of play on 90 percent collect objects, combine and possibly apply. For a game to "upscale" Adventure-level us this is not enough and already the predecessor have shown that this is also different.

- Technically not easily playable
I am now (as opposed to my husband) the absolute DAU, when it comes to technical things in the PC sector. If I buy a game, I read the system requirements and the same from my PC. Do I have the essentials components, I also expect that the game runs as smoothly as possible.
Well, we have two PCs, one to play (the "small") and to work (the "Large"). Both with XP SP3, the little one has a 2-core processor (Pentium), the other a 4-cores processor (a Pentium). I know that the little more than 512 MB RAM has (because my husband had the specially upgraded for another game), the big definitely has 1GB of RAM or even more. And the disk space of 2 GB are a joke in today's hard drives. The graphics cards we have built N-Vidia G-Force cards whose memory the 512MB significantly exceed also - nevertheless Nina runs after the installation on the "small" computer without body around and the minister turns out to be brother of Disney Cheshire Cat ( one saw only eyes and a mouth). So first search for errors, partly found on relevant pages and fixed problem. Nevertheless, there were still problems (although my knowledge beyond - when installing I am rarely present). Therefore, the whole uninstall and loaded on the "big" computer. Here it runs flawlessly.
I do not know what the game does not fit in our game machines, but if the manufacturer specifies as system requirements, what's on the packaging, I expect beforehand that it then runs smoothly. Otherwise he should stop the system information fix equal higher (but then maybe it sells even worse?).

Conclusion: Since the fewest newcomers alike to turn to a third part, but mostly it first time buy interest the "original" must be assumed that the makers of this game very well as customers in the first place fans of the first two want to address parts - this is thoroughly gone into his pants and one can only hope that it will get better in a fourth part.
Nevertheless, we awarded three stars since this impression in fact usually only arises when one knows the pioneer. Newcomers who actually play the first time Secret Files and want to start with the third part, it is still recommended because simply lack the preconceived expectations.
