The lamp showed a slight irregular flickering. That should not be a problem as long as it is not used as a night light in a nursery.

The flicker seems to be a general problem of the neon tube used: I could exchange the item easily on Amazon or got refunded the money for the second lamp. Yesterday I found the hardware store a similar lamp with the same neon tube, which also showed this slight flickering.

As night light I have a white LED lamp 0.6 W found (E14) in the form of drops, I've screwed into a plug lamp with switch.
