The receiver is seen really small from its dimensions and can therefore be easily positioned inconspicuously near the TV. Picture for older TV via Scart (of course not in HD) are transferred and the new device via HDMI in different modes to Full HD. A card slot does not exist, therefore the free to air programs are available. Is not a problem as me, etc. The HD + patronizing regarding recording do not like and I fortiori pay to be able to receive TV advertising.
Very positive compared to its predecessor, the new remote control has to be mentioned. This not only has a (subjective) better button layout, but a clear pressure point and a better response even at a greater distance. This was the predecessor of the main criticisms.
But the main point why I have chosen the receiver is the built-in video recorder (PVR ready). This device is connected with me on a second satellite link, so can be considered a program with the built-in TV receiver and the Xoro a second was added.
Both USB sticks with sufficient writing speed (had some trouble with an older 8 GB model) as well as USB hard drives 2.0 jack can be connected to the USB. Currently is a Toshiba 500GB USB 3.0 hard drive for use, which offers enough space for many hours recording. As file systems FAT32 and NTFS are supported, max. Plate size acc. Manual is 1TB. NTFS formatting has the advantage that longer videos do not have to be split into multiple parts.
The operation is very simple: Insert the disk or flash drive and press while the current program simply the Record button. With a second pressure can then also be entered recording time, alternatively press the Stop button to stop recording. Timer recording manually or directly from the EPG are also possible, the device wakes up in a timer recording, even in the standby mode, the recording power and then changes back to standby mode.
Recording format is .mts files and can then be used on the PC and be burned with appropriate programs as real video DVD or Bluray. No Verdongelung the recordings on a receiver, such as for example LG makes with its TVs.
Another nice feature is the built media player that reproduces images, music and video in a variety of formats. Also from Youtube DOWNLOADED .flv files has played without snags the Xoro in which the LG TVs and Bluray players have given up.
For the price an above average product. One can only hope that Xoro scored with the many "no reception" or failures to grips with the previous problems. Will possibly supplementary report here.
For me, It's just annoying that was delivered yesterday and the price has fallen by 5 euros today. Now less than 40 euros, definite buy recommendation.
