My expectations of the device for relatively small money were not large, but were anything but disappointed.
I have removed the electric steerage hoe, a shovel and a wheelbarrow in a day at about the half and leveled the hill. A multiple of the performance, which was possible only by hand before! Here playing the low weight a big advantage over a "right" tiller of who like to weigh a talent, and somehow on the hill should have been lifted. The earth was so wonderfully crumbly, and settled blades without much effort.
Somewhat more difficult is designed a large vegetable patch, which was for two years broke, and was pretty verkrautet. The hoe eats well here quite well into the earth, however, long grasses develop relatively quickly in the blades and clog them. But it carries the ax not to blame - it is just not a Unkrautjäter but a hoe. Accordingly, I had the knife every few meters from the herb free, but the time savings was enormous. Normal beds that are not overgrown, are no problem at all.
The endurance test was told the hoe with an old, to remove spruce hedge. Usually, you have the choice between pick and shovel or a mini digger. In one case, after you need new bone, the other the garden looks like a battlefield, and even worse, the floor is totally condensed, where the excavator is driven. The alternative was the hoe, with which I will do the hard work to the grave spruce logs around, cut the lateral roots with pruning shears and the tribes had then wrapped. 20m double row hedge were so completely gone in a day's work! Again, the blades must be repeatedly freed of thinner roots that wrap around the knife, but that was expected. That I could ever dig near the roots with only 600W, on the other hand I find quite amazing!
What Gardena has done really well in this product, is the choice of the engine and the transmission. The hoe is barely warm even during long operation, and is pleasingly quiet. The Calculation Guide 92 dB (A) are, in my opinion unnecessarily high, my food processor is likely to be louder. I'm happy to have not decided on one of the other devices in the same price range, but twice the power. It does not help anyone if the part with more than 1000W roars like a jet fighter (you can also implement a few hundred watts in sound, but for this I prefer a hi-fi system) or you can order heat the garden. In the Gardena-hoe really seems the majority of 600W into usable to be changed mechanical power. Just as it should be.
The only thing I regret to purchase, is that I have not made it earlier ...
