I had decided on a D 300 with the new 16-85 mm lens and my budget was so low. But I wanted to have at least a small tele and chose the 55-200mm for that time almost 250 euros. When I took it for the first time in the hand I still thought "oh well" but nothing rattles despite the lightweight construction (about 360 gr), nothing wobbles and the performance is amazing. I have charged on review two shots that were taken at dusk with a free hand and in the dark with a tripod. I think those pictures say more than any description. For me the quality is convincing. Who does not need a 200mm is so well served, especially since it takes up little space in your backpack and the total weight does not substantially increase. People who expect more, will certainly have a corresponding wallet. One should separate them but here always lay everything Unters Mikorskop. Who wants to make his images into the WWW will be as happy as the one who needs a few deductions for Album. Who wants to print a billboard has eh another device. I highly recommend this fine and light part.
