First of all, yes, it's true. The mouse is very small and ergonomic looks different. The criticism of many other reviewers is thus entirely justified.
BUT: What seems to be so negative, also has a huge advantage - the mouse is super portable and can be easily stowed in your pocket, if necessary.
MOTIVATION of purchase and purpose:
I use the T630 primarily for my Convertible (Ultrabook) Dell XPS 12 with Windows 8.1. Although the Convertible a touch screen (which I also like to use) has and a good touchpad, I prefer by prolonged use of the device is a mouse, I can thus work more accurately than with the touch function and faster than using the touchpad.
So far, a Logitech M705 has been in use, which also just so fit in my front pocket of slim neoprene case. However, it was always too cumbersome to bring these shorter applications from his pocket and always bothered me the Unifying dongle, although he fails quite small and I find the universal application of the dongle with the mice and keyboards very well done. When poke of XPS in the bag has still tangled from time to time on the dongle this.
In other words, I need a little mouse with Bluetooth technology and that's what gives me the T630.
As for the mouse itself, I can summarize the lessons learned as follows.
BENEFITS:
+ Very small
+ Although not ergonomic, I like the handling very good (have big hands !!)
+ TERRIFIC I find the touch operation, to which I no longer want to miss out on favorite !! I go down again a fact.
+ Processing is good to very good (acts largely clean processed (except for the switch and the Anschalter acting rather poor in my opinion)
+ 2 devices can be personalized with your mouse couple and it is easy to switch between devices - SUPER! The establishment of the initial coupling works usually also quite fast (in this example Win8 open Charms bar right -.> Click Search -> Enter "Bluetooth" -> Select Bluetooth Settings -> press the button on the mouse and as soon as the mouse in Windows appears, connect them with a click.)
+ Bluetooth - no disturbing dongle required because most laptops are equipped with Bluetooth
+ Coverage is good (tested up to 5m) - the M705, I like to be able to use without any problems even in presentations at well 8m Distance despite smartphones between whether this should be only the T630 rausstellen yet
+ Precision: over a Logitech M705 and MX Performance Mouse can I detect no significant disadvantages in terms of response and precision. The sliding feet are very good and similar to those of large mice, but falling from a smaller package.
DISADVANTAGES:
- High price (69 euros've paid)
- Battery life is acceptable (a working day is likely to be on a single charge but no problem, the M705 keeps loose half a year through, including the T630 is probably far from as bad as the G7 but it is not because of the battery exchange was all.. few hours required)
- Loading of the mouse is quite simple using the supplied USB cable (Micro-USB). The mouse, however, can not be used during charging, since the port is located underneath the mouse.
- Ergonomically unfavorable (to full working days of spending so that it is not appropriate - after several hours I notice a slightly strained forearm)
- Bluetooth is not necessarily known for its reliability. I initially had therefore repeatedly connectivity issues and also while browsing sudden disconnections. Since then, I put out the Bluetooth Device with DEL in Device Manager and then let this install by searching for new hardware again, I have had no problems - I hope it stays that way. Rarely, even failures of certain functions such as scrolling, double, etc., because helps a short power cycle the mouse.
- It would be worth even more adjustments to the touch operation.
- Click on the entire body, and clicking moves is not particularly quiet, in fact, but no worse than in normal mice. Here I would have expected more, and to me the Apple Touch Mouse likes of something deeper clicking sound.
Details touch control:
The surface of the T630 is fairly flat, so that it provides for touch operation. Basically between click (corpus press until resistance down) will tap (tap the surface of the mouse) and wipe distinction. If the left or right mouse button is needed, just click on the corresponding left or right side of the mouse. It must be noted that even then should only the respective fingers are on the mouse surface. That works for me but quite easily.
What works very well navigating the browser or in Windows Explorer. By the strip to the left or to the right can be navigated back and forth.
The Charms Bar can also be left open easily by wiping from the right.
Also you can switch from left to right between open apps by wiping, but unfortunately that is not customizable. So many apps do not exist and I am also at loggerheads with many Windows8-Apps. It would be nice, for example, when would be a change between the open windows by wiping from left to right possible -. But that is not adjustable. Overall, would in my view very useful to be able to influence the gestures comprehensive or define entirely different gestures (eg, a circle or 3-finger-tips, ...). At present can be about SetPoint only adjust subtleties or disable nonessential gestures, so you do not accidentally executes them.
Otherwise can still switch between app launcher and desktop using touch operation such as what you typed in the same time with 2 fingers on the mouse. What I like a lot better than expected, the vertical and horizontal scrolling and the like so much that I now miss Bi of using a normal mouse really me! When scrolling the mouse reacts quite quickly - had here before the concern that this is not so. Some had criticized here that the scrolling is not very precise. Is also true, at least as far as the default in SetPoint. I have in the scroll options reduces scrolling of 3 on 1 line in SetPoint and asked the sensitivity to Quick. Thus it funzt wonderful!
CONCLUSION:
Half a star I would deduct for the rather small and thus little ergonomic design of the T630, as well as for the high price. But since I can only forgive all star, I have to round up to final rating of 5 stars again.
Those looking for a mobile, high-quality mouse for occasional work while the touch controls of Windows 7 and use Windows 8 particularly want one I can absolutely recommend the Logitech T630!
