In summary, in brief:
(+) It is conveniently packed if you have removed it.
(+) Very light, no heaviness
(+) Very mobile
(-) Strong light falloff at the edge of the beam area
(-) Clamping is Fummelarbeit
(-) Rods for clamping are especially quickly broken at Halter Neck
(-) At the wide angle (full frame, Canon Speedlite 580 II) it projects into the image circle (from about 20mm focal length)
Overall, the softbox is very easy, so that does not make them top heavy lightning.
She directs the light quite strong, so that the brightness outside the beam area falls very noticeably.
The building unit but rather fiddly:
One has the supplied plastic rods into the (correct!) Poke holes in the holder (which are here those who are closer to the horizontal center).
The rods are inserted in it loose. So you have to place the part on the "back" so they do not fall out.
Previously the reference was inserted from the rear of the holder and aligned (rectangle-shaped vs. round hole). For this purpose, the holder must be removed from the lightning!
Then turn the rods very careful so that they can be inserted into the reference tabs.
One of the tabs is flexibly mounted with Velcro, so you can avoid the strongest tension.
But it would be better to make for all tabs, because otherwise it pulls so strong and bends, that the supplied spare rod is quickly needed.
Significantly Dorr shows this aspect only very rudimentary in its training video.
I have the plastic sticks by resilient metal bars (there's the meter in Modellbauzubehör) replaced. The can be bent better and not breaking.
Conclusion:
3 stars, because the part with a little practice, caution and patience makes compared to the price on the go acceptable services.
Better than "naked" flashes, it is all.
The manufacturer might offer but with little effort (all 4 corners flexible "klettbar" metal rods instead of plastic rods) a much better product.
