The installation went quickly equip: Bundled CD inserted, installed and updated drivers; went quickly and without much effort. Then because reingesteckt Unifying receptions, which really is very small and thus can be left safely in the USB port. Then insert the supplied batteries in the mouse and off we went ....
My first impression: Class!
The mouse looks very stylish. The ergonomics speaks for itself: Since I generally like large mice and I closed on my desktop PC into the heart of my strong MX518, I did not want to settle for a mini notebook mouse. The M705 meets here exactly my taste; So not too big, also fits more loosely in my laptop bag, but not too small. The ergonomics in itself is great too by their special design (but which I have to say that my thumb a little hurt after prolonged use, but I think it is, "he" is still used).
The plurality of keys was, as I mentioned, also a big factor in why I chose for the M705:
The 2 thumb buttons are standard for me and a mouse without it falls join me through the cracks. For this purpose .... very beneficial and easy to reach even an "invisible" button just under the top two thumb buttons! Also, all three keys have a mostly good tactile feedback. However, to me one fell on to the top two buttons: These quite often make a funny noise when I have it released again after you press ... as though the plastic somewhere on the other hand "jumps". That's a bit annoying with time.
The two main buttons also have a good press point and look very stable - this probably does not need to be said, right?
Now then for the specific scroll wheel:
The positive first:
The switching function is great! Once you have the mode that probably all know. The scroll wheel has a resistance and this is very precise. The other mode is the so-called "idle mode": The wheel has thereby easily scroll any more and you can resistance with a rapid rotation through pages and pages of documents.
The switch for this is something behind the scroll wheel and is, I think, well positioned. The good thing is, unlike the VX Nano that while the middle mouse button is retained, and so I can continue to open tabs.
Also you can press the wheel to the side and has thus further 2 buttons you can prove.
Unfortunately, I can the scroll wheel not only abgewinnen goods:
On the one hand the wheel rolls in the precision mode for something that bothers me a bit. In addition, the resistance in just-called mode is somewhat "bumpy"; which makes the MX518 example clearly better, which has the best with scroll wheel.
Here it is also the center button that I mean pressing the scroll wheel, not optimal. The pressure point is rather undefined: A clean "click" as with my MX518 is rare. I believe that this is due to the lateral margin, to have been given the M705 in order to press the wheel to the right or left can. Without the wheel would probably be broadly stable and have a higher pressure point. Also, I find these two "keys" unnecessarily; the three thumb buttons had me completely enough if I could get for a cleanly designed scroll wheel.
Otherwise, the processing has succeeded; the mouse makes a very sophisticated look. There are also at the bottom of an on / off switch to extend the so very long battery life yet.
Among the concerns about the mouse: The mouse afforded me no dropouts or it runs smoothly. Therefore, I can not share the concerns of the other. Even on a pillow I could very precisely control the mouse pointer.
Unfortunately, the package is not a mouse bag, which I think is a shame; This could have been a better solution.
Now again summarized the pros and cons of the M705:
+ Fashionable appearance
+ Perfect ergonomics
+ Many assignable buttons
+ Neither too small nor too large
+ Very innovative scroll wheel with "idle function"
+ Long battery life
+ Very good laser query: No delay or "sticking" of the mouse pointer
+ Runs on virtually any surface (except glass and mirrored surfaces)
+ Super small receiver!

-Various shortcomings in the processing of the thumb buttons
-suboptimale processing the mouse wheel (the penalty of M705)
-Possibly. Next Quality time rather than quantity, values Logitech'ler!
Conclusion: The M705 is a great mouse with many advantages, which actually deserves 5 stars, or even more.
But deficiencies also this Logitech model is (unfortunately) not entirely spared: The processing of the mouse wheel and some keys can be easily in some places to be desired, so this mouse is denied the top note and they are 4 stars satisfied with (not bad!) must give.
These deficiencies should be one but actually not mind and you can, as long as you do not "scroll-fetishist" is (which should in any case try the mouse again before), safely access at this great mouse!
