Today I have my Metz Mecablitz 24 AF-1 digital receive and operate it on a Sony NEX-seventh As an energy source, I use 2 rechargeable Eneloop HR6 1.2 V 1900 Ah. My Mecablitz 44 AF-1 digital I'll put in a rule when the NEX-7 is on a tripod. The 24er weighs only 178 grams, the 44er, however 417 g. The NEX-7 incl. The lens Sigma 60mm f2.8 plus 24er brings only 750 grams on the scale. The 44er is about 990 g. As a small take-along-flash the 24er is very suitable because compact and well stowed in my camera bag. In particular, the handling of the NEX-7 with him is much easier than with the larger and heavier 44er. Images from the hand can be achieved better at least for me, especially vertically. The 24er is firmly attached to the hot shoe. At the 24er can be set in principle contrary to the 44er nothing. The reflector is however swiveled so that a bounce is possible. Chosen! Settings such as reducing the flash power I make on the NEX-7. A high-pitched tone when loading (see related review) I have not found. The flash output, the processing and the price / performance ratio I rate as good. The 24er does not seem to have been made in Germany, but Metz offers a warranty of 2 years. At the moment I can recommend buying without limitation. If defects should occur, I will update the review.
