High Voltage [Vinyl] (Vinyl)

Customer Review

Why were the Australians with their rather simple knitted songs to one of the most successful rock bands in music history? Well - the Simple is often very successful; that alone would not even tell their status. The greatest strength of the group - in addition to the often infectious hooks and riffs - is that you reduce the Rock'n'Roll on the essentials and not just bring him to groove but also play it scary urgent - and the pace does little role. And humor, stubbornness and rejection of all that is new are all key ingredients to their success.

All that was on her international debut album already there and when you get there chanting the well-titled opener, It's A Long Way To The Top, If You Wanna Rock'n'Roll`, then this may be true in many other bands, but AC / DC were already 3 years from its founding to Stars. But as riff monster, TNT`, Rock'n'Roll Singer` or High Voltage` function halt more than 35 years later still. And next to it, you could then even the Boogie (, Can I Sit Next To You Girl`) so perfect that well even Status Quo were envious. Even the feel for the Blues (, The Jack`, Little Lover`) was fully developed and who such a mixture in the late fall of glam rock - and moreover with such fervor - recited who could really only take off.

Hard Rock? Anyway - but in reality that's just pure and punchy played rock'n'roll, put forward by a charismatic and always winking singer and so tight and energetic playing of the tape that virtuosity, or complicated songs the fun and power of these songs would have just destroyed.

, High Voltage` is essentiel, because it has great songs and already represents the entire spectrum of Australians in perfection. And in principle, it could not care less if you look at this album, or, Back In Black`als starting point At length (in reality one wants then eh all, because you can not get enough of it).

Also Live you have still a privilege, because their shows just to come across like a fairground for professional youth - the fog, the light show, the gun salutes, the confetti, Angus` stunt Solis - all this makes simply a lot of fun - and who says, the fun should always be sophisticated?

About this issue - the remasters the early '00s had appeared sound quite compressed - now there's these things finally on vinyl, these slightly more expensive 180g pressure from 2005 probably sounds a bit more dynamic than the more favorable in 2009. At the most impressive but still sound the thinner black discs that were available until the early 90's into it.
