I've tried the double-sided tape in the following materials (two days ago):
Wooden boxes on metal plate = keeps very well
Metal tin on metal plate = keeps very well
Metal tin on tile in damp rooms (kitchen, bathroom) = holds very well
Small metal container on plastered wall outside = keeps well. (I have my doubts as to whether the tape proved too long, but I can also be fooled)
To illustrate: When the metal plate is a kind of metal sign, how to use it as a Wall for magnets. Then I have metal and wooden boxes (with the ground) glued to obtain compartments for small items such as pens, paper clips or staples.
So far, everything holds true. Whether the parts can be removed again, I have not tried. This is certainly different from underground to surface, and I think you have to spend quite a bit of power and maybe rework with a solvent to completely remove adhesive residue again.
Yet I can not give long-term experience to the best, but I will add here, if changes to my previous assessment somewhat.
