After several weeks of testing, I would like to investigate newbies (even more like me ^^) hereby also give some tips, as you here in contrast to Raspi can not rely on massive literature, but has to get a lot in forums (or read themselves ).
As the Forums almost exclusively English-speaking [...] have proved in dt. [...] And in particular, where I downloaded versions in the latter all Custom Images with div. Linux.
The boot sequence is: 1. MicroSD card when there is nothing in it bootable internal NAND Flash is taken.
There are generally always different images for NAND or for micro SDcard.
The NAND is rel. simply flashed with the Windows Tool Suite Phoenix. For this purpose, the Cubietruck via the included mini USB cable (not Micro!) Connected to your PC and you have a key (not the power!) Keep moved when plugging the USB cable (which then supplies the CT with power) and release and, if applicable then. Multiple short press the Power button.
Is a bit cumbersome, but you have to put the part in debug mode, so he flashed the NAND via the USB cable. After updating the Phoenix Suite is also a hint on dt. Where what you do as must allow the upgrade of internal NAND Flash starts.
Depending on the size of the images it takes 7-10 minutes to has been completely written.
Meanwhile, many Linux versions are capable of running available on the CT. I currently have a Debian (Cubian) in NAND Flash. Furthermore, there is a very good version of Ubuntu, as well as Fedora, which I have all tested.
One should have a monitor to the possible via HDMI 720p and 1080p understands.
With my older 1680x1050 I had some problems and thought the Linux version would be flawed, but he has not gone through the 720p or the hard switching to 1080p :(
All in all I have esnicht repenting bought a Cubietruck. With the dual-core, the memory, the internal flash and the SATA port (I have connected there a 1TB 2.5 HDD) has almost a desktop replacement, which is definitely not as good riff with a Raspi.
I use it primarily to teach me Linux and me so off steam so properly.
Here one is uninhibited than if you constantly have to think about whether you shoot up the big PC because you randomly at fdsik had the wrong disk in the works ^^
Who still has tip / notes / questions may write to me like:
Addendum: because the Phoenix Suite is not as easy to find here is the link to:
