In my configuration:
Media Center: Raspberry Pi (with OpenELEC XBMC)
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V350 (DTS and Dolbi digital capable)
HDMI Cable: HDMI 2.0 / 1.4a
useless.
Story:
After I had bought myself the Raspberry Pi some time ago as a media center, I quickly realized that more
2 channel sound unfortunately can not be played or my TV, the audio signal is not as multi-channel sound on my
Installation transfers. Since the Raspberry Pi in this regard has no further output (except the useless in this case
3.5 mm jack for the headphones etc.) I went to the search for other options in the full
Consumption of 5.1 and so on to come through my system.
DeLock had recently published a price atractive splitter, probably at least a absplitten the audio channel
supports 5.1 sound (which is enough for me personally and my receiver) and as I previously quite satisfied with DeLock products
was, I thought, I order my times.
The DeLock makes a robust impression, is well made and is about the size of a cigarette box.
A guide is not going on the net I have found none. But is however really not
necessary, because on the one hand the HDMI cable goes from Raspberry in and on the other hand, the HDMI
the TV goes out again and still beside each one leaving for Toslink (optical), RCA and a
3.5mm has. Front there's a switch from majority to two-channel sound. So, as I said,
self-explanatory ......
After I connected everything from HDMI Raspi to Delock HDMI by Delock on TV and Tosklink (visually) by
Delock on receiver, I started the system.
I had the picture and sound on the TV, as if the Delock never ziwschengeschalten - So fine.
At the receiver, a different picture, however, was doing on the same. The tone was indeed perfect and in sync with the TV,
However, no matter what I set ... on Raspberry Pi and the receiver ... a two-channel sound it was unfortunately
never beyond. A change of Toslink to RCA, brought the same result. It RECOURSE
in a two-channel sound. Also included different movies with different audio formats came
unfortunately out only as a 2-channel sound. I assume now times not the DeLock innately already
was deffekt / and is actually only the bilingual comes out.
Conclusion:
I do not know what it is, whether Delock not in harmony with the Raspberry Pi and / or Delock problems
has reversed with my receiver or. In conjunction with my previous Media Center, a
Icy Box IB-MP3011Plus closed an issue of multi-channel sound perfectly to my receiver.
I send the unit back because it is so not useful for me. Just to possibly a better 2-channel output
at the facility to have when playing music ... it is me then too little.
