The dimmer is characterized by the following features:
+ Maximum load 500 VA, Phase Angle
+ Suitable for resistive and inductive loads, ie incandescent lamps and halogen / LED with wound transformers
+ The minimum load is only 20 VA - therefore even suitable for LEDs when the phase control allows driver and power> 20 W
+ Solid metal housing shielded also forward - therefore excellent noise suppression
+ Dims almost no noise as "buzzing" - most without - in certain lights only audible when you press your ear directly on the dimmer
+ The axis when rotating a fine grid - seems noble
+ Pressure switch for on / off switch is designed as a toggle switch, therefore cross and switch schemes possible!
+ The minimum brightness is more recently with a screwdriver at a small adjustable regulator (could my old 2247 not yet).
I run with the 2247U is a 30 Watt LED Lamp (Honsel Vilde) - although the dimmer officially is not suitable for LED's - and I am pleasantly surprised by the adjustment of the minimum brightness. Thus the luminaire can turn down to barely visible glow. Alledings then jumps in the off state to the minimum position not again, but only something has to be turned up. This is but probably not at the minimum load of the dimmer but the driver of the light and is easy to get over. Bin of the part really excited and even start to think about whether I the other - even well-functioning - to replace it with new 2247 2247U in order to turn down the lights it still further.
Conclusion: The part is really recommended. Solid processed, low minimum load, the adjustability of the minimum brightness and the possibility of a two-way circuit is not found often. The 2247U gets me full 5 stars.
