The story was then great as a story by Michael Crichton touted, who achieved just with "Jurrassic Park" to world fame (which now does not mean that previously no one knew him, but after that he was the author of course).
The story is, however, also tells quite interesting. Basically there are four political groups who happen to have all the same goal: the scientist who is looking for a diamond and her fiancé, Another scientist velvet monkey and friend who want to visit the home of monkeys, a crazy adventurer (Tim Curry Herrlich ..) who is looking for the treasure of Solomon and obviously the Guerrilla, which brings all the people to their destination. The rest of course is cannon fodder.
Despite these enormous differences and actually quite interesting constellation that people tend to remain "for itself". Although people come "closer", but respond to each other really they do not. On the contrary. Often they behave somewhat illogical.
An interesting feature of the story is all the time that it is probably incredibly difficult to reach the goal, with weapons, carriers and protectors, but on the way back there is no need then only 3 people and no equipment or supplies .. And why. ,
But that's all "bleating at the highest level," as the saying goes. Viewed objectively, the film is a very nice adventure film in the "old style". Many beautiful scenery there is to see, exciting passages and an exciting story (but only the first time, then the air out).
Therefore, three stars: The film is OK and you can watch it yourself, if you like such "Expedition films". A little horror is also there. When first viewing (1995) I found the "resolution" but then rather disappointing. I the second time now knew what happened in the end, I was able to concentrate on the story myself more.
