First of all, I have read the English version. After the first band I was looking forward to the continuation and ordered in advance. I have now read the book 3/4 and still waiting for a definite voltage curve! The story dumpelt so to himself, is indeed to read nice, but I experience as I (unconsciously) whole sentences "on read" or skip, so I'm ahead. I think the development of different people (which "species" for whatever reason) in this band unfortunately fairly flat and there are plenty of people of any species that would have been worth it to develop deeper! The "answers" to the questions raised in the first volume issues for Beispeil to Diana's magic will be presented to the reader or the reader with no tension there. There are "dangerous situations or people" announced, but the moment of danger comes and goes, to the reader / the reader, without tension over. I would be afraid of any of the vampires in this book, it is repeatedly emphasized how dangerous they are, but a sense of tension will not be adjusted at me. On the contrary, I have more the feeling I'm reading a mediocre historical novel and not a "vampire novel". The author tries the reader or the reader, the outgoing 16th century represent plastic, but it looks to me like a jumble of "snippets" of information from which for me neither a feeling nor an image of this time and this story forms. It is obvious that the author is familiar in history, it is indeed their subject, but unfortunately enough that this band not to post an exciting novel. Between there, the reader / the reader section are anchored in our time, in which the author tries to build a bridge to Miriam, Marcus or Ysabeau etc., but even these are flat and partly for the story unnecessarily. It seems to me like a clumsy attempt to reader / the reader to steer in the third band. I had me so excited, wanted to give me the book yet because of cancel vacations and could then not endure. Now I have it almost behind me, am disappointed and will have to find another place for my vacation. Pity! Frankly, I am unsure whether I'll buy that third volume! The next band will wait what other readers write or so occupy myself in detail with the excerpt!
