One of the chapters tries persistently to awaken compassion for the poor seal hunters who have lost their jobs because of animal welfare (and after were quite realistically described the circumstances of fur hunting). But in the next chapter, about diamonds, it's all about the price gouging of the cartels, and the working conditions in diamond mines are found not worthy of consideration.
Getting used to.
Overall, the book offers quite a few remarkable perspectives, but I would have liked less chapters and for a more detailed approach. Unfortunately, this is often quite superficial.
