We (my daughter and I) got used to quickly read the new style, regardless of whether Sony or Kindle. The main reason for me as commuters is the low weight and compact format. I now books with me (in your pocket or belt pouch), no extra mitzutragen a disturbing me pocket. With e-readers can read more convenient: One can hinfläzen or lie on your back and read or the bathtub and keep the reader while still comfortably in your hand and leaves. In low light (or glasses-pain) you can quickly times the font size. The integrated into both models Dictionaries make it easier to read foreign language texts.
Basically, both devices are good with no major weaknesses. The software error described in some reviews are not yet under me come, I also provides the latest software updates. Font and appearance in my opinion, do not take much. I find the Kindle more elegant, the Sony is a bit more manageable (slightly longer and narrower). Off / standby is the Sony the envelope of the current book to take one of the stored Kindle Graphics.
For "touch": Almost everyone to whom I expressed the Kindle in hand, tried first "instinctively" him "by touch" to operate. Well ...
The leaves on the Sony by "wiping" works very well, but is not important in my opinion. Even the Kindle with its attached on both sides leaves keys is good in every situation "leaves-bar". Only if you do anything other than read, the Touch shows its advantages. It navigates easily through menus, text entries going much faster than with the cursor control of the Kindle keyboard (similar to a game console).
But I find Touch not a must, because I want to read hautsächlich. Text notes I do not use and do in the menu I rarely something; at most 'times font zoom in / out, which is the Kindle quickly via keys. The only "real" advantage of the touch operation is the dictionary for foreign language books: While you have to navigate the Kindle via cursor keys for word, thus automatically the translation appears below, the Sony tapping the word (but enough about 2 seconds, would be slightly shorter I prefer). Speaking Dictionary: The Sony has more dictionaries on board, about Engl.-German, the Kindle you have to buy the separately.
But there are, unfortunately, a large touch drawback: you have to be careful when holding the Sony not to touch the display (or he himself verblättert or triggers various functions). Especially when reading in "comfortable" position or when rapid insertion into the pocket that is used to.
For Amazon World: With the Kindle you can only buy from Amazon and not copy-protected books from other publishers using (illegal ways to remove the copy protection does not belong here). This does not work for me. But I have to admit that it runs smoothly and works well. The Amazon Kindle is so to speak the iPhone of e-readers. One can without a PC via Wi-Fi conveniently shop, has quickly loaded free sample chapter, has the Amazon cloud as an extra / backup storage. My daughter I just a new Amazon account without credit card info created and as regularly via Amazon voucher, a read-budget at its free disposal - Prima solution for kids!
The Sony I bought, among other things also because libri.de opened its eBook store for mobile devices a few weeks ago (Libri is a great eBook providers in Germany and long it was in the press, Libri is Sony's partner shop in D. , Sony's own lerlinkter via Reader Store is still not available). So I can be made by Sony in the WLAN using a browser to access the eBook store (the normal colorful websites are very hard to bear in the e-ink Browser), can navigate there beautiful, even buy - but the download of the eBook then comes an error , Libri writes that they currently support only 3 of the models on the market; which sold and advertised by Libri Sony high-end model is not among them .. but they are working. So you have to install so via PC Adobe Digital Edition software and the Sony Reader software. That works then without problems - but in the Amazon world was sooooo easy and fast.
- But I can now buy the books at any publishers, and there are more and more opportunities. Is with me probably more so 'ne faith thing :)
