Consideration vorranging are when considering buying a TV so the choice of technology, ie plasma or LCD, CCFL, or Edge LED backlight lighting and -very Current- a possible 3D capability.
Plasma came to me out of the question, because I also like to daytime take a look at the television on, as I have decided against a 3D television on - that pleasure I reserve for the cinemagoer.
So now what lighting technology? Edge's very chic - the thin housing forms have quite its charm and also the low power consumption can be seen positively, but is repeatedly and across manufacturers to report by uneven lighting ("Clouding" streaky interference etc.) and that fact I could also even watch the "Test See" various models. Also LED backlight has-at least in the normal use of my price range - not yet acquired the final maturity (keyword "Black Pump") and so much the decision to the HX, the "still" has CCFL tubes for lighting, an extremely reliable Technology ...
To make it short: For me this was absolutely the right decision!
The device itself has a pronounced quality appearance, the solid disc makes everything seem all of a piece, the plastics used valuable aspect and the overall design absolutely correct. The stability on the base could be a bit better, as I would wish a little fancier remote control, but this was already the only two criticisms.
The picture is breathtakingly good (especially of course in HD channels, but also in SD signals brings the device very good Ergenisse herraus), which often feared mirroring of the disk is in practice for me at all not relevant and the 'big picture' acts already in the factory settings very harmonious and balanced. Movements (football World Cup at ARD and ZDF HD) are presented very fluid and without perceptible judder, Black is black, the lighting extremely homogeneous and fortunately my device has also no pixel errors. Small corrections in the setting allow this increase to personal taste yet (thanks at this point to the "hi-Forum") and so no wishes remain open for me with regard to the image quality. The sound of the speakers attached to the bottom is to Fersehen absolutely sufficient, even a music program goes well on the stage, as long as not too high level is required.
Also in detail the quality of the device can be seen, both the Guide as well as the Device menu are clearly designed and appealing, all functions are easy to use. A slide show of recent vacation photos from a USB stick is super over, this can be for example, when listening to Digital Radio Show - chic! The illuminated Sony logo is also a nice touch, but can be switched off also.
In the Overall the Sony HX is for me a unit with an excellent price-performance ratio and gets my strong buy recommendation!
