- Line-in and aux jacks unfortunately only on the front panel. For permanent device connection cable clutter looks not so nice.
- The automatic switching on and off of the TV set can not configure individual devices.
- Click the relay at channel change or when the image adjustment. At the start of Blu-ray movies, the receiver switches even several times back and forth.
- Legal high heat-development despite correct setting on 4 Ohm 4 Ohm speakers.
- The various sound effects need some very large amount of computing time, this leads to greater latency times.
- For the surround sound unit, the delay can be adjusted accordingly in order to get sound and picture sync.
But: Who, has just as I planned to provide another integrated amplifier with the stereo signal in the zone 2, for the operation of larger floorstanding speakers, will find that the internal signal and the "external signal" and Zone 2 can not be synchronized! But lacking an adjustable signal delay for zone. 2
Even when operating the boxes directly on the amplifier over zone 2 the problem persists. This is a shame, since that would make it very easily via software. By using less or no effects, the problem is better, a very slight delay, however, is still perceptible and makes simultaneous operation impossible.
Software update unfortunately only by service, firmware via USB would be up to date here!
I compare the receiver with a middle-class integrated amplifier from Marantz, I come to the following conclusion:
In the bass range, it goes down not quite as deep, but the bass is somewhat superficial. In the mid and high frequencies it is undifferentiated with increasing volume, with very high volumes shrill. The comparison is certainly not entirely fair, as measured by the price-performance ratio, the Onkyo AV receiver therefore still be described as very good. But a substitute for a good amplifier, it can not afford it should not also.
I run the Onkyo compact with the devil 30. If you still for the purchase of the receiver adds the low price for the speaker system to, you get a super surround system for little money.
Thick minus subsequently: #
Addendum: I have last week an Onkyo iPod dock to buy me the Onkyo DS-A3, with the Onkyo UP A 1 there lt description only from the Onkyo 608 the possibility to use OSD and video.. Trying the DS-A3 docking station times just to connect failed thoroughly. One has the option of connecting either composite, or component. At the sound, there were no problems, only the video signal or the OnSreenmenü not let himself show. After two hours of tinkering with studying the manuals I have unnerved abandoned. There is, incidentally, no conclusive explanation for the joining of these two devices, really sad.
I then connected the DS-A3 to the TV, which went immediately. Only with the AV receiver nothing could be done. Why, the support has stated succinctly by then:
The AV receiver can output any analog video signals through the HDMI !!! I do not rule out that the well is somewhere, but I have found nothing now. Only when man connects the AVR-component output to the TV, the receiver also transmits the signal. So it means when selecting the iPod channel man has to the television even the input channel switch, very cumbersome and in any case to the amount of time. There again !!! a very big minus from me
I've assumed that also be output via HDMI Einganskanäle all, that's not the case. I no longer reveals itself then actually what the analog inputs still are good, then I can but rather just connect Viedokamera ipod and VCR to the TV.
