Sound excellent ... but insufficient durability

I was looking for a high quality, portable headphones for MP3 and MiniDisc. I use the phone every day for about 30 minutes for music or audio books. Especially for music (classical, film music, pop ... just wide range). In addition, I take care about the equalizer accordingly.
The headset has me sound forth very directly addressed. After slight adjustments on the Equalizer my MP3 and MiniDisc everything was perfect.
Previously, I had the predecessor of the PX 200-II. Sonically there is no difference. After 3 years in the dissolved but on the cushion of the shells. The padding of the new make a better impression and showed in the same period of the benefit no such disintegration. But what has bothered me was the cable with its rougher surface because this quasi "glued" to the clothes and fabrics. But I just accepted.

The main problem is that is broken despite pfleglichem dealing now after (again!) 3 years, the headphones. Now only is still an active speaker and the left is no sound more of themselves. Repair is not worth it to buy a new one can be equal. Warranty is 3 years, of course, no longer exists.

From headphones in this price range and of a branded product, I expect a significantly improved durability. To have every 3 years to buy a new, I find unacceptable. It seems well to "planned obsolescence" to trade, as they are becoming more common for some time.

So I turned my back on the brand Sennheiser. Too bad. As I said, the sound from the headphone convinces everybody. Good but not too brutal bass. Beautiful heights. Has a lot of fun.

Have a Beyerdynamic DTX 501P brought me now. This makes the sound also produces a very good impression. But it is unfortunately something bulky. Let's see how long keeps the ...
