Quick, I do not know! I am rather disappointed by the speed, I really did think that was noticeably faster than a USB 2.0 hard drive, but you do not notice much since. Big pictures shows a WD Red in an enclosure with USB 2 in my opinion, even faster than the Transcend with Thunderbolt
