It is finally here, the new live album. No best of, no second infusion of old tracks, no new material !!! And then ..... Full of expectations you zaps through the tracks and look in vain for the electrifying rock, the powerful and sometimes brutal boomed through the speakers of the system. But now? Nix is. Shallow pop tunes and ballads superficial à la Nickleback, -only spiritual. Ed Kowalzcyk flowers (again) in his role as father and sings in every second track the miracle of life, or his two daughters, both of which amounts to the same thing. Kitsch, perfect world and world peace, coupled with religious idealism are further topics of very striking lyrics. Total Kowalczyk sounds no longer as aggressive as before, and it gives the impression that the love Papi is sometimes just went into the studio to whisper to a pair of "rock" songs in micro so that dear family gets bolstered the family budget. Except for the track "Home" and the single "The River" is missing the album of originality, bite and that certain something that makes listening worthwhile. The Songs from Black Mountain rippling like a river from the mountain dry up and somewhere in the depths of the CD racks. Who wants songs, add seamlessly to tame predecessor "Birds of Pray", which is cared for properly. Those who expect something new or a further, non-existent. No Distinction: highly recommended, rather predicate: easy-listening Sing-Along-Schubi-du. Only the dual-disc loht because of Acoustic versions, the interviews and the making of the "The River" video.
