Nokia Lumia 820?
Now to the decision to buy the HTC: It is in direct competition to the Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Ativ S. The smaller Nokia Lumia 820 dropped out for me, although it supports LTE and has the brilliant Nokia navigation on board. Reason: The display and the resolution (800x480 pixels) is too low, if I want to read texts etc. on the Windows programs for all Windows Phone standard delivered. Otherwise, this unit would be priced and the scope of her clear purchasing decisions. In this respect: Those who have not read small fonts, and / or still have very good eyes, the Nokia Lumia 820 should look, this is a bit cheaper than the HTC 8X, but brings very interesting features more.

Why now not like the resolution and technical performance smartphones Lumia 920 and Samsung Ativ S? The format is too high and too clunky:;: Both me the price and weight are quite simply (130 Nokia HTC 185 grams). Since I can with the HTC-navigation, which is not quite as simple and chic as that of Nokia, live, the HTC was able to score with a narrower format, lighter weight and a more reasonable price. But Nokia makes it hard: The HTC has in the multimedia sector, in contrast to Nokia (Samsung Ativ S remains to be seen) stop only Windows Phone 8 standard fare. The Nokia 920 can the good per se HTC camera also hit with a 8.7-megapixel camera with image stabilization. To dispense with LTE must, if it is likely to be a selling point for many regions in Germany because of the deployment and so for the frequent traveler. Here, a prospective buyer should know when to expect a LTE availability (if one at all because such a large bandwidth required). Against the HTC 8x speaks otherwise even that first, the battery is not quite as powerful as the competition (for working under normal conditions but perfectly adequate). Second, the memory is not exactly abundant dimensioned and can not expand as Nokia (but then by double storage volume). Here the Samsung Ativ S is preferable with expandable 32 GB memory. But that's actions at a high level.
In summary: The Nokia Lumia 920 has some features and technical additions, which I also like the HTC 8x would - but for a considerable extra cost. Therefore, my decision was made for the HTC 8X which also fits with no bulges into your pocket. The Samsung Ativ S with its 4.8 inch display (12.2 cm to 10.9 cm) is expected to finally blow each trouser and jacket pocket. So a clear, albeit sober buy recommendation. The hybrid device from HTC and Nokia does not yet support.
Another tip for last: I advise against, to be impressed by Test rankings / leaderboards those PC magazines that let the operating system with Windows Phone included in the assessment (such as in handling, multimedia or multitasking). Here beat obviously in some testers to personal preference for other operating systems by and there is grotesque rankings. In addition, the great opportunities through the easy integration of the HTC 8X and the other devices are recognized in the "office world" in any way.
