Product description: The lamp contains og cool white LEDs. The luminosity of LEDs is generated by 3 x batteries (size D). The lamp can be placed on the floor / table or hung on a branch or into the tent. The use of LEDs is energy-saving, promising a long service life and does not get hot even with frequent use; So in my opinion, ideal for use in a camping lamp.
Functionality: After inserting the batteries (ground cover with screw cap) is the lamp directly ready for use. One can differentiate via keystroke between 2 brightness levels; a flashing light can be adjusted. The flashing light is possibly helpful in an emergency situation in the open wilderness. For a camping holiday at festivals or at the campfire certainly less interesting. The luminosity of LEDs is neat; the surrounding area illuminated pleasant. A small green LED flashing light (above the Power Button) ensures that you can find the Camping lamp in offline mode in the dark more quickly (nice gimmick). The folding handle and the hinged hook (up / down) serve their purpose. Unfortunately, the lamp is in accordance with manufacturer's instructions only splash-proof (I have no experience with it). Waterproof would of course have been desirable for an outdoor product.
Processing: The said lamp consists of SG ABS plastic, which is known for its robustness and thus is well suited for an outdoor product. The gray / black plastic has a simple design. The base and some other places were provided with a black rubber coating, which indicates an increased stability and also possible impacts (eg., By circumstances, fall) cushion. The folding handles on the top is made of metal; the folding hooks on the bottom lid made of plastic. Both serve their purpose and are stable. The LEDs are surrounded by a plastic cover. Processing affects overall very valuable and robust. The size of the camping lamp I would call average and handy. Weight (incl. Of 3 x D batteries) is a bit too heavy (about 777 g), but still acceptable for my tastes.
Manual: Small-format manual is attached in three languages. The German translation is grammatically just bad, but you can understand what is meant (probably an automated program to translate the language was used and the result is no longer cross-checked).
Scope of supply: TaoTronics LED camping lamp and operating instructions are included. The batteries (3 x D) not! On an unnecessarily large cardboard or unnecessary amount of packaging has been omitted in the delivery.
Conclusion: The Camping lamp fulfills its purpose and the price-performance ratio is reasonable. Would be nice if the batteries in the price would have been included. Furthermore, I would have at a camping lamp (= Camping Outdoor) actually expected that it is a waterproof model. Therefore, a star deduction. Nevertheless, the opportunity for campers at a night walk, garden party or similar definitely recommended.
