To install the required three batteries (size D / LR20), the bottom of the bulb is unscrewed (it requires no tool). Inside the battery compartment and the lid unscrewed are clearly visible markings, so that the cover is screwed back onto the lamp in the correct position / Position the battery insertion is thus been a breeze.
The lamp is switched on and off, which is located under a rubber cap over a pushbutton. The button works with the lamp off as follows:
- First press: the lamp is turned on and lights dimmed
- Second press: the lamp is at maximum brightness
- Third Press: the lamp flashes (is probably intended as an emergency signal)
- Fourth press: the light goes out
The brightness of the Camping lamp is comparable to my old gas lamp camping. The advantage of LED Camping Lamp is that it remains absolutely cool. The light distribution via the built-reflector is good. Part of the light is deliberately up and down, the rest of the pages. One can therefore use the lamp while hiking to light the way, but as a regular light source for reading, eating, etc.
Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by this lamp and I will prefer in the future of my old gas lamp.
