Staind (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After 16 years of songwriting, recording, common tours and six studio albums, the band returns with their seventh album of the same name Staind. The quartet released the work under the label Atlantic Records in CD (+ DVD), LP and DI on 13 September, 2011.

Power Chords of harder Nu Metal-times reminiscent of the 1999 released their second studio album Dysfunction and allow fans of titles like It's Been A While initially returned unsatisfied. On average, songs rock about four minutes and the comfort cuddle song fan not too smooth with catchy choruses and song Something To Remind You.

Thus, the disc starts with a distorted Bassriff Johnny April the hardest song Eyes Wide Open and opens the listener right at the beginning, the bandwidth of the band. Also Not Again, Take A Breath, The Bottom and Paper Wings blare with her deep sound between quiet and Verspassagen auflößenden choruses back and forth. Something gentle contrast fall Failing songs like, Throw It All Away and Something To Remind You not as an obstacle to, but promote the diversity of the album. Now forms a slightly propel their song, which already suggests the melody of the intro. Mitlerweile Lewis is not just praised his Rapgesang Wannabe in the reviews. However, this is the refined songs built in alliance of the album does not detract from the character, because his melancholy song suspense is still the figurehead of the troops par excellence. Also Mushok proves not over are on guitar with gentle and faster touch braids how much the old times. His second melodies support the melodious song and create the famous Staind atmosphere.

In addition to the songwriting and the sound score of Producers and Mixing Engineer Johnny K has positive influence. Although he picks up by powerful instruments or sparingly used effects like guitar or small radio flangenden effects the mix, can also offset in depth and clear panoramic distribution nothing to be desired.

Overall, the album not only for fans but also for the band seems to be something special, because they would not otherwise have christened it self titled. Song Technically combine various facets of the band from the previous albums. When the band would once again try to combine all their skills in the seventh work and in addition to their supporting hardness not to neglect the recognizable hooks. All in all it is a further standing for themselves Staind plant and forms a strong start to the The Mass Chaos Tour 2012 with Halestorm and Godsmack.
