Brain Drain (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Brain drain" from 1989 is the most likely underestimate the Ramones plate for me.
Sure, the CD has not quite the class as "Rocket to Russia" (1977) or "Ramones" (1976), but it has nevertheless an improvement to some other plates from the eighties on! Were still at "Halfway To Sanity" (1987) some very crazy songs where Dee Dee Ramone "I Lost My Mind" constantly gave out (which is partly really sounded like Dee Dee lost his mind) go the songs on this Silberling but much easier in his ear! Your old style had lost four Ramones in the 80 a long time, Johnny had also made the CD a little more, played as only 4 power chords and tried on occasion to some guitar solos.
With "I Believe In Miracles" and the Stephen King's movie "Pet Sematary" produced song "Pet Semantary" represented two of the best Ramones songs.
"Come Back, Baby" is a damn good song with a cool melody of Johnny and "Can not Get You Outta My Mind" is reminiscent of old Ramones ballads.
"Palisades Park" is an old Rock'n'Roll cover- song and with "Merry Christmas (I Do not Want To Fight Tonight)" have the Ramones for the first time tried to a Christmas song! We must not forget "All Screwed Up"!
Of course, tastes are different, especially when it comes to different sound of the Ramones between the 70s and the mid / late 80s!
The CD is recommended for all fans anyway, for newcomers, I would always recommend a Ramones Best-Of.
