Personally, I use this device in several ways:
- To extend the range of my wireless throughout the house upstairs where I had difficulty picking up WiFi from my Freebox, but also in the garden (for that I take as it moves remembers previous settings )
- On the go, when I go to the hotel, I plug the router by Ethernet, and then I has my private network in the room, where I enjoy the internet connection on all my devices with a single connection (username / password password, so one subscription)
- Always on the go, when I'm home customers and we need a connection, only the router is connected and everyone can share the same subnet and benefit from the Internet.
One of the big advantages of this system is that it acts as a true repeater, with the same network name; your smartphone or tablet will switch from one network to another seamlessly. This is the power of this system.
The different modes are:
* Router: you connect your box wired (Ethernet) to your router: you have access to internet via ethernet cable (connecting your laptop to the router)
* AP: Access Point Mode where you create your own network by wired or WiFi from an existing network
* WISP: you connect to a single hotspot and you share the connection with all your devices
* Repeater: you duplicate an existing network and increase the range of your network
MOST:
- Real repeater mode
- Advanced features available (can simulate a MAC Address, set the entire router, ...)
- Runs on 220V and requires no charger (compact)
- Very simple interface but powerful
LEAST:
- In Repeater functionality, once associated with the router, it is no longer possible to access the administrator interface by typing the address provided. It is mandatory to go through the stage RESET (trombone for 10 seconds in the small hole).
Otherwise, finally, the setting is simple mode with "wizard" that guides you through the settings.
