--- Installation and Settings ---
Crysis is installed without DRM, while playing the CD in the drive must be. Warhead must be activated after installation online and then can be played in the drive without disc. Activation can be withdrawn by De-Authorisierungstool of EA.
Both titles have an extensive menu with many graphics settings and automatic hardware detection for optimum settings of the installed hardware accordingly. This may be increased after quiet yet one or the other value. I had both gambling problems, to change the original resolution of 1024x768 to 1920x1200, with Warhead I even had to manually enter in the game.cfg the values, it was simply not stored in the menu - strange.
--- GAMEPLAY ---
As once in Far Cry one moves mostly through the jungle and fought in the first third of the game exclusively human opponent until the player then seek the aliens after life. It supports the players the Nanosuit, which functions as maximum armor, strength or vital Tarnfuntion be activated via a suit menu. The gameplay is at first somewhat monotonous: Through the jungle run - off patrol - even off a patrol - bearing clean - Go through the Dschungel'etc'etc 'Only later scene changes as the alien ship or tank mission bring in Crysis because some variety. Warhead acts as a whole round, especially the hovercraft and Zugmission are a nice change.
The AI is acting very smart and is blessed with an excellent accuracy. In principle, I welcome that you need to be tactically and a stupid drauflos-Shooting through the crisp difficulty mostly in the "You're dead - load last Score - Screen" ends. Just when you were surrounded, whether from humans or aliens, it can sometimes even be quite hectic.
The selection of weapons is quite manageable, in Warhead there are more than in Crysis. They can also be modified, for example with various visors, silencer, flashlight or laser Point. There is also a fancy menu - very clear and visually appealing.
Crysis is to be mentioned that the balancing was so frustrating before Patch 1.2 that I have broken down the first pass at Level 3. After a few hits one was already dead, in contrast, the opponents scored even to me after I have almost a full magazine pumped into it. The patch makes it something Frustration-Free in the Warhead Balancing is generally better.
--- Graphics and sound ---
Although the games already have under their belt a few years, they still represent graphically the reference, on which new games have to be measured even today. Really impressive, what is on offer there. The lighting effects are amazing and designed the various venues great. In between, some dull muddy textures and Warhead few meters in front of me "growing" shrubs and stones, although the overall impression, but every time under my continuous fire a tree falls, that is forgotten and a wide grin dominated my face. As impressive as the graphics are so amazing is that even current computers are forced with maximum settings locally in the knee. I wonder how many were the two games play smoothly with maximum settings on the appearance.
The staging of the Games is almost Filmreif, not just because of the many cutscenes, which integrate into the gameplay. The soundtrack can be heard, depending on the location subtle to bold but always appropriate and very atmoshärisch - thumbs up.
--- --- CONCLUSION
Both games are optical Kracher no question and you should once have played in life, I find. However, the repetitive and sometimes monotonous gameplay and places frustrating balancing prevent the top grade. But anyway I can the two games, especially recommend without hesitation at a budget price in this twin pack.
