How So? Most clearly it is, if I describe what I experienced when I opened the shipping box:
So I cut through the packing tape on the sides, and as soon as I lifted the box lid wide a gap,
met me a scathing Stinkwolke. When I completely flipped open the lid, the highly concentrated odor spread, my eyes were irritated directly, burned and began to tears and my nose swelled up and ran.
I had no choice but to flee at first and let fly the smell.
However, it was the first time that I had experienced with a piece of furniture such thing. (Even my furniture from India, where I was rather skeptical when paint have, not so smelly.) Such a response to (furniture) color I ever had ever. (And, although I am making art and working with much color.)
Since I was so confused, I called the manufacturer Kerbl to inform me of wood varnish and paint.
What you have to keep Kerbl really good thing is that you have a contact for each area and you easily come into contact with the person responsible. I was assured that the glaze and paint for birds are harmless.
It should be checked and there was a certificate. The only question is: Who hats checked and what a certificate is it? Apart from the assembly instructions because there are absolutely no information ... and would have animal products, which are harmless to nibble actually, not be marked with a seal? What therefore means "harmless" and according to what standards will be checked?
Those of you, however, where this info is enough and calms, this cage can buy accordingly.
I still rely on my senses and my instincts because of screamed quite loudly the opposite.
(Even after long fly I was not able to assemble the cage without eyestrain.)
I will therefore return to the cage, even though I would have liked that the cage (with finally reasonable dimensions for canaries!) Is due. Too Bad.
It would be nice if other manufacturers Kerbl and more offers would offer in these dimensions:
Artgerecht, easy to clean and please REALLY safe.
Conclusion: it is not all gold shines what.
