Strangely beautiful soundscape

Glow will surely be counted in retrospect the most outstanding releases of the year. So bold, unusual and exhilarating coming few CDs on the counter.
Courageous because Pablo Held (p, celesta) has expanded his trio with Robert Landfermann (b) and Jonas Burgwinkel (DR) to equal seven additional musicians. In various formations are Menzel Mutzke (tp), Sebastian Gille (ts, ss), Niels Klein (ts, ss, b-cl), Kathrin Pechlof (harp), Hubert Nuss (cel., Harmonium), Dietmar Fuhr (b) Henning Sieverts and (b, cello) of the party.
As unusual as the cast is also the result: The sound awakens me this ensemble of texts to the semi electric phase of Miles Davis in the late sixties and the Mwandishiband of Herbie Hancock.
Nevertheless, the music is very original, in spite of all experimentation sometimes almost conscious form of chamber music, uses the whole scale of meditative sound quaint to exciting-eruptive. Pablo Held is rather the restrained companion, lets his fellow musicians plenty of room for improvisation heated, driving rhythms and beguiling melodiousness.
In short: Buy and 52 minutes treat this peculiarly beautiful musical experience.
